Choosing Which Act Database to Use
Scenario 1
    DataPlus for e-automate Act Database
  1. Restore the Act database provided by Hogan Data
  2. We recommend using your e-automate database name for your Act database without the prefix "Co"
  3. User Name: Admin
  4. Password: leave blank
    Note: All the necessary fields for Act integration with e-automate are created and exist in Act layout.
Scenario 2
    Your Current Act Database
  1. Backup your current Act Database
  2. Perform the tasks below
  3. After fields are created you must modify your layouts.
  4. You can also extract the DataPlus Act layouts and use them as a template.

  1. Open Act
  2. Tools/DataPlus 4.0/Manual Import

  1. Click on EA
  2. Click on [ ... ]
Create Database Fields
    Create Custom Fields
    Additional custom fields will be created in initial import. General Options
  1. Check Enable Database Locking
    2. Entity Options
  2. Check Create Fields Only
    3. Import Selection
  3. Check Only Run Selected Items
  4. Check Each entity that you will be importing into Act!
  5. Click Okay
Note: After import is complete, exit Act and reopen to enable Custom Fields.
Note: Fields in Contact & Company level will be created by DataPlus without importing data.
Note: You can now modify your Act layout with the custom fields created. Hogan Data provides custom Act layouts for e-automate that can be modified.
